“The promise of My Father”? “Power from on high”?

What was to be sent to the waiting disciples? Well, if we go straight to Peter’s explanation of what happened at Pentecost, we can see exactly what “promise” and “power” they received:

Acts 2:32-33 …’This JESUS hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having RECEIVED OF THE FATHER THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY GHOST, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.’

Do you see what the “promise of the Father” was? It was the Holy Spirit. But who in the first instance RECEIVED the Holy Spirit from the Father? According to Acts 2 above, it was Jesus Christ. So Jesus received the Holy Spirit FROM the Father. And now who HAS the Holy Spirit to SEND? What did Jesus say in Luke 24:49 above? … “I SEND the promise of My Father.” It is Jesus who HAS the Holy Spirit to send.

Look at Revelation 5:6 …’And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood A LAMB as it had been slain, HAVING seven horns and seven eyes, which are THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD SENT FORTH INTO ALL THE EARTH.’

Who is the “Lamb slain”? It is Jesus Christ. And what does Jesus HAVE according to Revelation 5:6? He HAS, AS A PART OF HIMSELF (symbolically horns and eyes), the Holy Spirit of God the Father. To do what with it? … “send forth into all the earth.” And Paul confirmed this in Galatians and Philippians:

Galatians 4:6 …’And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth THE SPIRIT OF HIS SON into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.’

Philippians 1:19 …’For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST.’

This is the “Comforter” that Jesus promised to send in John 14. Jesus didn’t say He was going to send “someone else”, but HIS OWN Spirit which He RECEIVED FROM the Father.

John 14:18-24 …’I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME UNTO HIM, AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, BUT THE FATHER'S which sent me.’

But what is the Holy Spirit? Well, what is spirit? It is LIFE. Who’s Spirit is the Holy Spirit, that “promise” which was to be given? It is the Father’s Spirit:

Matthew 10:20 …’For it is not ye that speak, but THE SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER which speaketh in you.’

So what did the Father GIVE to Jesus, which Jesus then gives to us? The Father’s LIFE.'

"All things Christ received from God, but He took to give. So in the heavenly courts, in His ministry for all created beings: THROUGH THE BELOVED SON, THE FATHER'S LIFE FLOWS OUT TO ALL; through the Son it returns, in praise and joyous service, a tide of love, TO THE GREAT SOURCE OF ALL. And thus through Christ the circuit of beneficence is complete, representing the character of the great Giver, the law of life." Desire of Ages, p.21

Who is that “great source of all”?  According to the apostle Paul, it is the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6). And what does He give through His Son?  HIS LIFE. That is what the Holy Spirit is. It is the life of the Father, given through His Son Jesus. It is NOT some “third being” or “third part” of a “trinity god.” It is the very life of God the Father, given to us through His Son.

Titus 3:4-6 …’But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; WHICH HE SHED ON US ABUNDANTLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR.’

This is the “promise” that was to be given FROM the Father. This is the “power from on high” that Jesus said He would send. Thus, we become “partakers of the divine nature” – the divine nature and LIFE of the Father Himself.

2 Peter 1:2-4 …’Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as HIS DIVINE POWER hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES: that by these ye might be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.’

Do you realize what is available to us? Sadly, the majority have no idea what the promise of the Father is, thanks to this ridiculous “3-in-1” trinity god abomination. And thus why there is no power in the churches today! Our heavenly Father is waiting to bestow His LIFE upon you, through His Son Jesus.

Will you accept this GIFT?
