Belief In Jesus Being the Son of God

​

First we have some bible verses which show us clearly that belief in Jesus being the Son of God is linked to salvation and eternal life!

 

John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath NOT believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God."

 

John 3:35-36  "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth NOT the Son shall NOT see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

 

1 John 5:12-13  "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath NOT the Son of God hath NOT life.  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

 

John 11:25-27 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?  She saith unto him, “Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.”

John 20:31  "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

 

John 6:40  "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 6:47  "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."

 

Acts 16:31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

 

Romans 10:9  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Now we have some more verses which tell of the importance in knowing and declaring that Jesus is the Son of God.

 

John 6:69   "And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God."

 

Matthew 14:33  "Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God."

 

Mathew 16:16  "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."

1 John 3:23  "And this is the commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He gave us commandment."

1 John 5:5  "Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus IS the Son of God."

John 9:35-38  "Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?  He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him."

 

Matthew 27:54 "Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."

 

Acts 8:37  "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

 

Acts 9:20  "And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God."

 

Romans 1:3-4  "Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:"

 

Eph 4:13   "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:"

1 John 2:22, 23 “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

1 John 4:15  "Whosever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God."

​

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

​

Philipians 1:29 "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;"

​

John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
